Getting to Know the Course
The class started with a short introduction session with Dr Fariza Khalid, our Computer in Education lecturer. Dr Fariza is a well-known computer lecturer because of her broad knowledge and creative ideas in ICT. I am proud to be in one of her classes in UKM. Our class began early in the morning with a computer lesson from Dr Fariza. We were required to sign up Google Mail (gmail.com) as our formal e-mail account for educational purposes. Dr Fariza taught basic steps on getting how it done. She encouraged us to possess e-mail etiquette when writing e-mail. It is necessary to have e-mail signature when we are dealing with people formally. Besides that, Dr Fariza pointed out our mistakes in our e-mails which we had delivered to her, and she corrected them. It was an eye-opener experience because initially, I would just send e-mail to people without knowing the basic etiquette of having proper e-mail. After that, we were exposed to other Google applications, such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Google Maps and etc. It was a shame because I did not know how to use the applications entirely well, yet living in this modern 21st century. I was glad that Dr Fariza giving us chances and time to explore Google ourselves, hence I managed to get know a bit about some of the applications. Then, Dr Fariza introduced to us our course's website, ge1155ukm.weebly.com which works as a platform for this course. We explored the website that was created by Dr Fariza herself before ending the class.
From today's class, I was exposed deeper into Google applications which are useful for future tasks. I was able to gain some computer skills when doing the activity held in class. Furthermore, I learnt e-mail etiquette which is necessary in formal routine.

Learning with Weebly
Besides getting used the course proforma, I learnt how to effectively use Web 2.0 applications. Our class continued with an introduction of Weebly, a web-hosting service to generate an e-portfolio. I had to apply my computer skills where these skills are necessary in creating website for evaluation of our assesssment this semester. Dr. Fariza taught us about Weebly's drag and drop website builder, which makes it suitable for online learning. I found it is useful for learning process.
I was awestruck by how awesome Weebly is. I had made a blog report before, and created an informational website using blogspot and Wix.com. I discovered that each has its awesomeness and advantages as an online writing platform. Weebly is not much different from Wix but I personally prefer Weebly because the "drag and drop" option makes creating website simple. I love the blog editor in Weebly, as it is almost similar to blogspot which I normally use for online writing, and I am familiar with the identical features.
Dr. Fariza gave us time to discover the website individually, so that we were exposed and getting used to Weebly. Thinking skills were applied during the process because I had to think creatively as well as using my imagination to create wonderful and informative website for this course.
These are our first meeting's photos! the T1 group. Thank you for the pictures, Dr!
